We were so delighted to have talented young film maker Ella Vincenzi as part of the team on our project for WHO. She documented the process and has made a lovely short film of our journey. It was great to reflect on the process while we were going through it and was a really helpful way of bringing perspective to any challenges as well as constantly connecting us back to our core purpose in making it. We are excited to announce that our film Life Growing Up made for UK children’s HIV charity CHIVA, has been selected for the 2019 Global Health Film Festival. A unique film/storytelling project in collaboration with Dr Sandy McBride (consultant dermatologist at the Royal Free London Hospital). We launched the film on you tube to coincide with National Psoriasis Week in the UK. It is designed to educate and bring awareness.
I interviewed 20 people with Psoriasis and from the transcripts Danny Scheinmann and I created a spoken word piece which we perform with music from Neyire Ashworth and Simon Edwards. The film is directed by Simon Baker. The stories are true, and many of the words are verbatim.
So excited to be filming our story about Psoriasis “The Skin I’m In”. Rising to the challenge of translating the live storytelling piece onto film, with a fantastic creative team. Its a real pleasure to work with director Simon Baker, producer Fenella Mcguire, and musicians Neyire Ashworth and Simon Edwards and of course the wonderful Danny Scheinmann.
