October 2016 – Launch of “The Skin I’m In”

A unique film/storytelling project in collaboration with Dr Sandy McBride (consultant dermatologist at the Royal Free London Hospital). We launched the film on you tube to coincide with National Psoriasis Week in the UK. It is designed to educate and bring awareness.

I interviewed 20 people with Psoriasis and from the transcripts Danny Scheinmann and I created a spoken word piece which we perform with music from Neyire Ashworth and Simon Edwards.  The film is directed by Simon Baker. The stories are true, and many of the words are verbatim.

September 2016 – shooting short film about psoriasis

So excited to be filming our story about Psoriasis “The Skin I’m In”. Rising to the challenge of translating the  live storytelling piece onto film, with a fantastic creative team.  Its a real pleasure to work with director Simon Baker, producer Fenella Mcguire, and musicians Neyire Ashworth and Simon Edwards and of course the wonderful Danny Scheinmann.

Oct 2015 – Exciting new collaboration

I am delighted that we have secured a grant for an exciting collaboration between myself and Danny Scheinmann (storytellers), Buddy Films and consultant dermatologist Sandy McBride from the Royal Free Hospital, London. The collaboration will draw from true life stories collected from people with psoriasis to develop a live storytelling event, and later a short film which seeks to engage health professionals, people with psoriasis and the general public in the emotional story of what it is to live with psoriasis.

The performance and film aim to change the behaviour of health care professionals towards people with psoriasis, encouraging early and effective treatment and also  changing the behaviour of the public towards people with psoriasis raising understanding and reducing stigma and rejection.

November 2014 – Horror School Nominated for award

I am so excited that “Horror School”; the  short film I made with Year 4 children from Brookfield Primary School in North London, has been nominated for an award at the Kids for Kids UK Film Competition. I worked with the the kids from conception to completion of the film. They wrote, storyboarded, designed, acted, directed, and edited it all themselves (with just a little help on the way from us!). They were brilliant and we had a ball making it.
